Guiding Principles

  • Christian Worldview: Education is never neutral; it shapes values and understanding and must be grounded in a biblical worldview. Scripture reveals a unified story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration: God created the world good and purposeful, sin fractured all of life, Jesus Christ redeems sinners, and God will one day fully renew creation under His rightful rule. We believe that facts, whether mathematical, historical, scientific, or otherwise, can only represent truth if they are taught in the context of this worldview framework. This conviction shapes our goals and objectives, teaching methods, and curriculum at Anchor Christian Academy.
  • Non-Denominational: Anchor Christian Academy is not affiliated with, nor governed by, any specific church or denomination. We intentionally maintain this position to foster unity, promote fairness, and avoid division arising from denominational distinctives. As a Christian organization, all board members, faculty, staff, and parents are united by a shared profession of faith in Jesus Christ, allowing us to focus on the core truths of the Christian faith as defined by our Statement of Faith.
  • Family Ministry: Anchor Christian Academy affirms that parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers, shaping academic success as well as emotional, social, and spiritual development. In keeping with Scripture (Deuteronomy 6; Ephesians 6:4), we view our role as a partner that supports parents in their God-given responsibility to train their children in mind, body, and spirit. Through intentional collaboration, we work alongside families in student learning and discipline, character development, and spiritual formation. We also provide seminars and resources to strengthen parents’ academic understanding, parenting skills, and integration of faith and worldview.
  • Joy of Learning: Our aim is to challenge students without exasperating them. While we uphold rigorous academic standards, we intentionally avoid an environment dominated by excessive competition or meaningless drudgery. We cultivate curiosity, wonder, and delight through hands-on learning, real-world experiences, field trips, and special academic events. Education should not be rigid or dull, but full of life. At Anchor Christian Academy, we desire students not only to learn well, but to develop a lasting love for learning.
